Lessons from Under Water

The water's cold, very cold. It must be shivering there on a cold winter morning more so. Plus the wind is chilling too. Damn it, better just go to desk and work, who cares about a swim ?

These and more thoughts of lethargy woke yours truly this morning as I moved slowly to the pool.

then the mandatory shower before swim . why is it done ? sometimes i wonder.  2 reasons come to mind.
1. so that people dont carry their dirt, dust, sweat et al to the pool.
2. to make people get used to the water temperature in the pool.

Whatever it is, its not so pleasant, at least in early mornings.

Nonetheless, shower over, with much trepidation I waded into the pool, with a cold wind blowing across.
and dived in...........

Strange! the water wasnt cold much. And I knew for sure that this pool doesnt have a heating system where they keep the water at an optimal temperature.

Then why wasnt the water so cold ?

Reason was the natural phenomena of "Latent heat" . the latent heat in a water body contrasts that of the external temperature. the colder the outside temperature is , the water temperature balances out.

But, there is a lesson behind this.

The supposedly cold water in my mind was a BIG Problem . But when I gathered courage and waded in it, it wasnt so cold after all.

Gist is, the bigger the problem looks from outside, it actually isnt so.

Its your Attitude to it, that makes it look bigger or smaller that it really is.!!!!
